OCALA, FLORIDA — October 2026 — USPRE Week returns to IBERICON from October 14–18, 2026, at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, bringing together a comprehensive program dedicated to the education, promotion, breeding, and community of the Purebred Spanish Horse (P.R.E.) in the United States.

As part of its Born in America Awards, presented throughout the year at shows across the country, USPRE was proud to sponsor this year's Feria del Caballo Español, held September 11–13, 2026, in City of Industry, California. USPRE is honored to recognize the breeders celebrated there, whose dedication and passion have produced this year's outstanding American-born PRE horses.

The international equestrian calendar features several major events in Europe: SICAB in Seville for the Purebred Spanish Horse, Golegã for the Lusitano, Verden for the Hanoverian, and Vechta for the Oldenburg. Across the Atlantic, IBERICON has established itself as one of the leading meeting points for the Iberian horse in the United States, hosted at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala.

The United States P.R.E. Association (USPRE) joins the Pura Raza Española community in mourning the loss of Grandioso III, who passed away on September 10 at the age of 27.

ANCCE is responsible for the development and implementation of the P.R.E. Genetic Improvement Program, approved by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture in 2004. The program aims to improve the morphology, conformation, and functionality of the Purebred Spanish Horse through performance testing and genetic evaluation.

Lisa Wilcox is one of the most accomplished American dressage riders of her generation. An international competitor and Olympic medalist, she has developed her career on both sides of the Atlantic, gaining extensive experience in some of Germany’s most renowned training and breeding environments before returning to the United States.

The United States is home to a growing community of Pura Raza Española breeders. Yet, women remain a minority in the world of breeding, selection, and the preservation of this remarkable breed.

Today, we speak with USPRE member and one of our SICAB stand sponsors, Stephany Castillo, owner of Unique Horse Farm, whose passion for the Spanish horse has transformed a lifelong dream into a promising breeding program. Founded just five years ago, Unique Horse Farm was born from Stephany's admiration for the Pura Raza Española.

Throwing back to April 1st, the dressage community witnessed a moment that quickly became one of the most inspiring stories of the year. At Whippet Run Farm in Ocala, Florida, Phyllis Stein rode down the centerline of a Kür freestyle for the very first time in her life. But this was far more than just another freestyle. Together with her longtime partner, the P.R.E. horse Aljarafe VII, bred by Los Alburejos, the pair completed a memorable Century Ride; an achievement recognized when the combined ages of horse and rider total 100 years or more. At 79 years old, riding her 21-year-old partner, Stein officially became part of The Dressage Foundation Century Club.

We are pleased to announce that SICAB 2026 tickets are now available. The event will be held from the 17th to the 22nd of November at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos (Fairgrounds & Exhibition Center) in Sevilla.

The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has officially announced the name of the city where the FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses will be held for 2028-2030. The host city will be Randbøl (Denmark).
