Year-End Letter from USPRE President, Janne Rumbough

Dear USPRE Members,
As 2021 draws to a close, I look back at this past year and remember the many successes and challenges that unified and strengthened our commitment to the P.R.E. horse breed. So, I can only express my deepest gratitude to the wonderful group of people who make up this great organization.

Despite various challenges and difficulties, breeders continued to pursue their passion for breeding.  Trainers and riders continued to train horses and enjoy riding every day.   Although the pandemic struck, the purebred horse industry continued to grow, and many new breeders and owners joined the Association.

These past twelve months have been challenging and rewarding in so many ways. The pandemic caused the cancellation of several P.R.E competitions in the United States. Also, the USPRE Board of Directors recently made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 USPRE End of Year Awards event this year.  We sincerely look forward to continuing this tradition of recognition and celebration of our award-winning members as soon as we can resume scheduling this distinctive event.

Throughout sponsorships and events, we promoted the P.R.E breed. USPRE awarded the High Point Awards, which expanded to five additional states.  Also, during this year, the USDF All-Breeds Awards were awarded to a record number of participants.

USPRE staff and board members supported ANCCE, by attending SICAB in Sevilla,
where our onsite booth proudly represented the US and welcomed many of our members and breeders.

As travel restrictions prevailed in the United States, our staff worked diligently regarding organizing the revision for nearly six hundred horses in thirteen states.  We are proud of our staff for their outstanding work during the pandemic. I, our Board of Directors, members, and breeders are very pleased with their professionalism, attention to detail, and great customer service.

In addition, I would like to thank our volunteers for their time and dedication to our organization.  Words cannot express how grateful I am for your willingness to volunteer. Thank you so much for the great work that you have done for our organization during 2021.

It is my hope that 2022 will provide our group the opportunities to experience many of the activities we have all grown accustomed to. I hope to see you all very soon.  It has been an honor to serve as President of such a prestigious organization.

The Board of Directors and I wish you a happy holiday season and a prosperous start to the new year!

Sincerely,

Janne Rumbough
USPRE President
