With a stable full of top-quality PREs, USPRE member Jacqueline Cuddy has become one of the country’s most competitive riders of PREs in the FEI national levels. Jacqui, from Ocala, Florida where she manages Emerald Oaks Farm with her husband Liam, became involved in the USPRE dressage initiatives immediately after joining the association. Her success is well-documented. She has been a USDF All Breeds winner, a multiple High Point winner, and a steady Copa USPRE/Dressage Team member since the inception of the program. With the assistance of her trainer, Belinda Nairn, Jacqui has progressively moved several horses up through the FEI levels.

In 2014, Jacqui and Malcarat were Reserve Champions in the Copa USPRE for the Small Tour, gaining them a position on the USPRE Dressage Team in 2015. The Copa is a Breeders Cup sponsored by USPRE. The point of the Copa and the sponsorship of the USPRE Dressage Team is to encourage promising pairs to move their horses to Grand Prix–the highest and most demanding level of horse performance in sport. Jacqui and Malcarat are the success story! In late 2105, Jacqui debuted Malcarat at the Grand Prix, and by September they had posted their first 70% together!

Malcarat is a beautiful 12 year old dark bay gelding, bred in Spain by Francisco Moline Adrover, with expressive gaits and a special aptitude for piaffe and passage.

This past weekend at USPRE Week in Wellington, Jacqui and Malcarat were highlights of the USPRE Party, performing a wonderful Celtic-themed Grand Prix freestyle for several hundred spectators. They went on to compete in the national show the next day, and brought home a 68.8 in the Grand Prix and a Third Place among top open competition.

Says Jacqui: “It is so thrilling to enter the Grand Prix arena with a horse that I have brought up through the levels and then to have very rapidly reached the scores that we have . With the help from Belinda Nairn and my husband, Liam, Custom Saddlery and Newport Hay, we did it.
This is just the beginning for Malcarat at this level and he is already showing the first signs of confidence  I’m over the moon , Malcarat and I have a very special partnership. He amazes me every day with his comfort level in the toughest arena.”

We look forward to more future success from this pair as they mature together at this level and continue their excellent results!
