Brilliant final for the PREs at the Barcelona Dressage Tour at Can Alzina (Barcelona). JOSÉ DANIEL MARTÍN DOCKS & GRANDIOSO HGF, 2014 DRESSAGE CHAMPIONS OF SPAIN.
José Antonio García Mena with Norte Lovera, went home with the silver.
On Sunday, rider José Daniel Martín Dockx and his horse Grandioso HGF, owned by Hampton Green Farm, was proclaimed 2014 Dressage Champion of Spain, at the Barcelona Horse Equestrian Center at Can Alzina, in the town of Polinya, (province of Barcelona). After being victorious in the Grand Prix and performing an excellent Kür Grand Prix, horse and rider confirmed their leadership and once again took the stand after three years with an accumulated average of 74.287%. The silver was for Norte Lovera, ridden by José Antonio García Mena and owned by Yeguada Lovera. Their accumulated average was 74.230%.
Both are Purebred Spanish Horses, members of Spain’s 2013 Dressage team; they were most outstanding at the 45th edition of the Spanish National Championships to prove they are at their very best and with the best piaffe, full of expression and rhythm. Grandioso, well in the hand, was most outstanding in his two-time changes, while Norte was impressive in his harmony, half-pass and extended walk during some of the most defining moments of the test.
At this final—an essential test to participate in the World Equestrian Games in Normandy—where the national elite, judges, breeders and audience could appreciate, once again, the excellent qualities of Purebred Spanish Horses for Dressage.
