USPRE Members Achieve Year End Recognition, Part 1

USPRE Member Cindy Ramirez-Smith of Santa Barbara, CA, is not afraid to try new things. After purchasing Carina–her now 5 year old PRE mare by Camaron IX–for a dressage prospect for her husband, Cindy decided to take her over a few fences. Fast forward two years and the pair have topped the boards at both Dressage and the Eventing circuit. Placing high in large classes of warmblood breeds, Carina and Cindy have proven that there is sport potential in PRE mares that is often unrealized. This year alone, the pair’s accomplishments include:

First Place, USEA sanctioned Twin Rivers Horse Trails, Beginner Novice Division

Fifth Place (of 18), USEA Spring Twin Rivers Three Day Event and Horse Trials, Novice

Seventh (of 16), USEA Shepherd Ranch Horse Trials, Novice

Third Place (of 22), Summer Event Woodside Horse Trials

Topping off a great year, Cindy and Carina were awarded recently the United States Eventing Association Gold Medal for Novice Level.
Congratulations, Cindy and Carina!
