ANCCE Reports – 2013 Spanish National Championship

In an effort to adapt to the socio-economic reality affecting Spain in general, and more specifically the equine sector, ANCCE has designed a new Conformation Competition model for the Spanish National Championship Final at SICAB 2013.  This model, which was published in January, seeks to benefit the breeders, making it unnecessary to face a series of expenses to participate in said Final.

Therefore, remember that your participation in the 2013 Spanish National Championship is open to all breeders, although a priority has been established, specifying the following: When placing entries for SICAB, those horses that have participated in any officially recognized competition on the Official ANCCE calendar will have preference, whether a national or international competition.  Only in such case that further places are available will entries from those horses that have not participated in any other competition be accepted.

All the competitions that take place within Spain have the category of National Competitions while events taking place outside of Spain and those listed below, are considered International Competitions:

  • Ávila.
  • Championships of Andalusia.
  • Championships of Catalonia.
  • Championships of Galicia.
  • Cordoba.
  • El Rocío.
  • Gines.
  • Jerez de la Frontera.
  • Torre Pacheco.
  • Valencia.
  • Zafra.

These competition categories are applicable for the 2013 competition year only.  All categories may be modified in future years.

This year, SICAB—held from the 3rd to 8th of December—has been delayed slightly, in comparison with its traditional dates, to facilitate the attendance of more breeders and enthusiasts from all over the world interested in participating in the essential Purebred Spanish Horse event. This single breed trade show is the most important in the world and undoubtedly, the most important of all those held in Spain.
