Feria del Caballo Espanol (April 12-14 in City of Industry, CA) lays claim to the title of the Definitive Show for the Pure Spanish Horse–and is preparing to put on a spectacular weekend of horsemanship, celebration and entertainment–in addition to showcasing the most beautiful and perfect specimens of the PRE Horse breed.
Spanish morphology judges Victor Manuel Huertas Vega, Francisco Javier Garcia Romero, and Isaac Rodríguez Martín from ANCCE will bring their expertise to bear upon the evaluation and ranking of the top products of American PRE studfarms representing the West Coast. Former champions will go up against newcomers in conformation and functionality classes, demonstrating to the world the quality of American breeding and stock selection. Starting on Friday, there are special events and exhibitions planned throughout the days, featuring a family-friendly Viva Feria party on Friday evening which will highlight the various riding traditions of the United States, Spain and Mexico. On Saturday evening, a special awards event will be themed on the Caballos Rey de Reyes, and feature celebrities from Latin America and Spain. The Spanish Flamenco troupe Peña Andaluza en California will bring the inimitable flavor of Spanish music and rythm to the various events. Good food and excellent horses–a feast for the senses!
USPRE, the national PRE Association, will there with hospitality to assist breeders and owners during the weekend. USPRE staff members Tanya Duffey and Ricardo Nigaglioni, and Board of Directors Joan Mack, Betsy Ketcham and Miguel Nunez will be on hand and are looking forward to meeting you. The USPRE booth will serve as a meeting place for members and a one-stop resource for LG questions and registrations. USPRE Annual Awards for 2012 will be presented during the weekend. Check back for times.
