Madelyn Guthrie wins the 2012 USPRE Award at the Lendon Youth Dressage Festival Midwest
USPRE congratulates Madelyn (Maddy) Guthrie for being the high score rider with a PRE horse at the 2012 Lendon Youth Dressage Festival Midwest. Maddy is a member of the Emerging Dressage Athlete Program–a talent-spotting program designed by US Olympians to put exceptionally talented youth riders in training with top American instructors. She has been a working student in Michigan all summer working on her riding with trainer Andrea Landis.
At Hampton Green Farm in Fruitport, Michigan, earlier this month Maddy joined 8 other EDAP riders as well as local riders to compete in the Lendon Youth Dressage Festival Midwest–a competition that requires all riders to do a written test, a dressage test and an equitation test, with combined scores determining rankings.
USPRE has sponsored the award for the high scoring rider with a PRE for two years. This year, there were three PREs in the competition. Maddy rode Red Raven Farm’s Bolero CXLVIII to win the award, and also to Second Place in her overall division–receiving 91% on her written exam, 61.351 on her First Level dressage test, and a class high score of 87.5% in equitation.
Congratulations, Maddy for a job well-done on a PRE !
