Janne Rumbaugh is the Grand Champion of the Florida Dressage High Point Series
This winter, the USPRE High Point Series took on a new look from prior years–shadbellies! In prior years, the majority of our competitors were in the lower levels, but time has passed and our accomplished riders are moving their horses appropriately up the levels. This year’s contenders for Grand Champion were all in the FEI levels– and some new faces and horses made the competition even more exciting.
Lily Zilo debuted her flashy new stallion Esmaltado this past winter, winning a number of Intermediare I classes in the Adult Amateur division. Professional rider Endel Ots is a new face on a PRE, who rode a successful season on Lily Zilo’s powerful gelding, Gorrion. Argentine Grand Prix rider Mica Mabragana brought Hampton Green Farm’s breeding stallion Cuatrero back to the showring after four years, with an exemplary first season in the Small Tour, and Rachel Chowanec continues to move up the ranks into the Young Rider division with her National Champion Embrujado.
But it was veteran AA rider Janne Rumbaugh who edged out the others with the most points with her Gaucho gelding, JR. Their top three scores at the Intermediare I garnered them the championship from this worthy field of opponents. We congratulate Janne on a job well-done, but do so with trepidation…Florida 2013 USPRE High Point season is only 8 months away and there will be scores to settle !
Congratulations and Best Wishes to all our 2012 High Point Riders!
