We would like to inform you that a new book by Juan Carlos Altamirano entitled ” The Purebred Spanish Horse: the Living Legend “ is on sale now. In this fully documented and beautifully illustrated book, the foreword to which was written by Vicente Soriano García, the author presents the history and vicissitudes of Spanish horses in the 20th century. This book is the third part of ” History and Origin of the Spanish Horse (1998). (The second: The Spanish Horse Under The Bourbon Kings (2004).
This beautifully presented work, both in printing and binding, matches in quality the previous books of this author, which, apart from being sold in more than 50 different countries, have been exhibited by the Spanish Ministry of Culture at International Fairs such as those in Cairo, La Havana, Brussels, Prague, Harare (Zimbabwe), Sao Paulo, Beijing and Casablanca, amongst others.
The book has 368 pages, and it has been printed on a 150 gr. chalk laminated gloss paper, 21,5 x 29 cm; coloured flyleaves on ribbed paper with a reproduction of an oil painting of horses by a brilliant painter José Manuel Gómez López. It has been illustrated with over 138 photographs taken by the best photographers specialized in equestrian photography from different countries. It has false leather binding with the title printed in gold on the front cover, and a laminated coloured dustcover with the title printed in the same way. The above characteristics make it into a beautiful piece of work, indispensible in any equestrian library.
Included in the first 500 books sold there will be a DVD with images of the most important historical monuments of Écija (Seville), as well as an extensive presentation of the Stud Farm of Cárdenas, especially highlighting the specimen “Fuego de Cárdenas”.
